    Position: Controller – Credit Investment Fund

    Location: West Palm Beach, Florida OR Fully Remote

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    B.E. Blank & Company ("B.E. Blank & Co LP" or "the Firm") is seeking a high caliber accounting or finance professional who has served at a third party investment fund administrator and who is passionate about building and managing an institutional-quality accounting and reporting function for an investment management firm. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer/ Chief Operations Officer (CFO/COO) to inform decision-making in all aspects of the Firm's financial operations. While the Firm outsources its day-to-day accounting, and the accounting of the four funds it manages, this team member will coordinate and oversee the external service providers, such as third-party fund administrators, valuation agents, tax and audit teams, and banks. S(he) will be expected to leverage those relationships to achieve timely and accurate required reporting for the Firm's management, its investors, and its lender. Additionally, this team member will assist the CFO/COO with all financial modeling for recurring and multiple ad hoc analyses. The Controller must be internally driven and relentless in bringing open items to closure, while maintaining professionalism and a positive relationship with the Firm's constituents. A successful candidate will take ownership of initiatives to create, improve, and implement review, reporting, and other information systems that will support the Firm as it grows into a world-class investment manager with a best-in-class employee culture.

    The ideal candidate has worked at a third-party investment fund administrator, is a hands-on, self-starting team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial culture. (S)he has a proven track record of building processes and systems in the finance, accounting sectors. (S)he is detail oriented, has strong organization skills, can manage multiple priorities, can recognize and solve problems before they occur, and strives to assist in building an investment firm capable of delivering exceptional outcomes.

On average, the Controller is expected to work approximately 40 hours per week and will have very little travel, if any. Additionally, the Firm may be able to offer flexible hours and/or partial remote work once the candidate has demonstrated a track record of proven performance.

    B.E. Blank & Co LP is the investment manager to three affiliated funds, which are designed to provide investors with non-correlated, favorable risk-adjusted returns with limited volatility by providing working capital loans to stakeholder-centric law firms that are mission-oriented and values-aligned.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Maintain and update the fund's portfolio master file in real time with all relevant transactions

    · Reconcile loan portfolio transactions with bank accounts on a monthly basis

    · Manage the Firm's relationships with external accounting service providers, including, but not limited to:

    o Fund Administrator

    o Auditors

    o Tax Accountants

    o Valuation Advisors

    · Review and reconcile financial information provided by external service providers monthly and quarterly

    · Review and reconcile fund performance and investor allocations on a monthly basis

    · Create materials for existing and potential new investors with returns calculated in compliance with GIPS

    · Perform calculations of fees due to the Firm from each fund monthly & quarterly

    · Prepare and further develop internal reporting process and templates, including budget, forecasting and Firm valuation models

    · Perform various ad hoc analyses related to forecasting performance, the management company, each of the funds, and/or new business opportunities

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND MINDSET

    · A successful candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and may also have a graduate degree from a nationally recognized university, with a course specialization in accounting, finance and related subjects, or commensurate work experience directly applicable to this role

    · A successful candidate will have at least eight years of directly relevant experience in accounting, auditing, third-party fund administration, or loan compliance/monitoring, preferably with a third-party fund administrator in the accounting and reporting division

    · Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required (complex formulas and modeling, but not necessarily macros or VBA)

    · A successful candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as an uncompromising attention to detail

    · A successful candidate will be able to manage herself/himself, and take an organized and disciplined approach to performing financial reviews and reconciliations

    · A successful candidate will have the maturity and judgment necessary to professionally communicate with external service providers to advance the Firm's interests while maintaining a positive working relationship
