    Position Overview:


    As the
    _Process Innovation Senior Engineer_ , youre a key member of the Global Beverage Process Innovation Team reporting to the Process Innovation Engineering Manager.

    You will contribute to the success of Ball by developing and implementing new technologies to achieve step change improvements in cost, efficiency, flexibility and sustainability in beverage container manufacturing processes.

    You will coordinate communication efforts around new process innovations to address identified gaps and develop globally consistent implementation plans.

    Your Key Areas of
    Responsibilities Include:


    • Drive process improvements through innovation, ensuring that the global process development pipeline reflects industry trends and future needs.
    • Translate plant processing challenges into new project opportunities and facilitate innovation ideation to ensure a healthy project pipeline.
    • Apply new internal and external technologies to manufacturing processes to increase flexibility, reduce spoilage, and improve efficiency and long-term environmental sustainability targets.
    • Ensure appropriate follow up on process innovation projects with engineering / operations teams, including leadership, during development cycle, to drive clearly defined innovation priorities for global technology implementation.
    • Build, grow, and manage supplier networks and external resources to generate new process designs and validate process performance in production environment.
    • Project management responsibility for complete project lifespan Idea generation through production implementation:
    • Project Management / Stage Gate
    • Innovation focused
    • Project charter creation and test-planning
    • Organization of timelines, resources & costs
    • Cost model development and analyses
    • Generate and present data summaries and reports on project status, outcomes, and formal recommendations.
    • Create packages for operations & engineering to optimize implementation and minimize operational issues in the plant environment often requires support/collaboration in creating / editing FMEA, quality test methods, SOPs, EHS documentation, etc.
    • Make use of analytical and statistical evaluation tools to assess process improvement performance.
    • Use financial modeling tools to combine and compare new processes including evaluation of capital equipment, support equipment, installation, and material usage.

    Required Experience and Skills:

    • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through a bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant job related experience.
    • 5 or more years job-related experience in high speed manufacturing in mechanical, manufacturing or process engineering roles.
    • Experience with manufacturing processes (such as: thermal processes, printing, process automation, and/or product handling.)
    • Experience translating external technologies/manufacturing processes to new project opportunities to improve efficiency and flexibility, reduce spoilage, and meet long term sustainability goals.
    • Technical Project management experience motivating teams to completion and also including: creation, organization and management of new process implementation and familiar with cost models and the stage gate process of project management.
    • Experience interacting with external suppliers to generate new process designs and validate performance in plant implementation.
    • Strong computer proficiency with

    Microsoft Office Suite:
    Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project.

    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% (internationally and domestically).

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

    • Experience with thermal equipment.
    • Experience in high speed beverage packaging manufacturing industry.
    • Experience working with geographically dispersed engineering and operations teams.
    • Experience training/mentoring junior level engineers.
    • Expertise reviewing and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematic prints.
    • Experience creating implementation packages for new process designs, including creation of quality specifications, test methods, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) documentation.

    Compensation & Benefits


    • Hiring Salary Range: $83, ,660 (Salary to be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
    • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

    • Hybrid On-Site Work Environment : Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations willbe required.
