Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with at least 1 year of experience, an active GA or compact RN license, and required critical care certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting with primary float to ICU but may also float to MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU units
• Care for adult to geriatric patient populations
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3, PCU is 1:4-5, and MS/MS Tele is 1:5-6
• Utilizes Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 to 19:00), three shifts per week
• Required to work every other weekend, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to various inpatient units within the hospital is required
• Duties include managing critically ill adult and geriatric patients across multiple units
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Full compliance is necessary before start date, with orientation scheduled bi-weekly
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed, with blackout period during spring break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage is required per assignment period; no holiday RTO can be requested unless working three major holidays in assignment period
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Travel pairings cannot be scheduled on the same shift/unit
• No special or alternate scheduling requests will be considered

Requirements

• Active GA RN or compact license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must have experience with Epic EMR
• Ability to care for a variety of diagnoses across ICU, PCU, MS, and Telemetry units
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Returning travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to be eligible
