    JOB SUMMARY Certified Medication Aide performs routine administration and documentation of medications to inmates. The Medication Aide works under the Nurse Manager of the Unit and the department Director. The Medication Aide is responsible for administering medications as ordered by the physician or mid-level provider.

    # It is the responsibility of the medication aide to collect all newly received medication orders from the unit pharmacy or clinic and take to the appropriate pill window for use.# Medication Aide provides medication to inmate#s cell-side during lockdowns, staff shortages, to all inmate housing areas that are restricted units.# The Medication Aide is expected to administer medications as ordered, completing two pill window medication passes per shift.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education High School or equivalent.

    Minimum Work Experience No experience needed.# Required Licenses/Certifications Certified Correctional Health Medication Aide or 6 months from start date to obtain certification# CPR prior to orientation completion.# Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Communication skills and behaviors conducive to high risk environment Interpersonal skills and ability to adapt approach to a variety of patients and settings.

    Professional maturity and accountability Maintain professional appearance at all times Handle confidential information# # Ability to care out obligations and duties of position Follow security guidelines at all times
