- Give direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse (ie: bath, oral hygiene, perineal care, etc)
- Assist with admission, transfer, or discharge procedures of patients.
- Maintain room order including bed making and care of soiled linen, cleaning bedside tables, and chest of drawers and closet as necessary;
- Assist in passing trays, feeding patients, and recording of dietary intake;
- Complete routine daily assignments;
- Maintain a safe environment of care;
- Complete education as assigned and attend ten (10) meetings; of which, at least eight (8) will need to be in person and two (2) can be via web-ex options.
- Other duties as assigned by the charge nurse or CNO.Adheres to the principals of caring and expected behaviors outlined in MercyOne Elkader Medical Center's Compassionate Relationship Centered Caring Model and the nursing vision, fostering a climate where all customers are treated in a manner consistent with MercyOne Elkader Medical Center's Mission and Values.
- Nursing Assistant Certification, current nursing student, EMT or Paramedic.

MercyOne Eastern Iowa provides exceptional, personalized care to Dubuque, Dyersville, Elkader, Clinton and surrounding areas providing more than 300 licensed beds. MercyOne Eastern Iowa operates four medical centers in Dubuque, Elkader, Dyersville and Clinton.
