    Contracts and Grants Specialist

    Poison control services are provided to nearly 40 million California residents through a single toll-free national phone number. This specialist works for the Central Office of the California Poison Control System (CPCS), administered through the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

    Salary

    The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $121,600 per year.

    Job Description

    This Contracts and Grants Specialist will independently fulfill various responsibilities in pre- and post-award contracts and grants administration, including:

    • Proposal preparation and submission
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Purchasing and reconciliations
    • Finance, allocations, and accounting

    The specialist ensures compliance with university and sponsoring agency policies in critical areas such as finance, accounting, contracts, grants, and human resources. They predict and allocate expenses according to funder and UC guidelines, produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and advise CPCS constituents, including funders, directors, and UCSF departments.

    Department Description

    The California Poison Control System (CPCS) operates 24/7, providing informational and emergency management advice to residents statewide. It is designated by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority and managed by the UCSF School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training
    • Minimum 3 years of related experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    • Effective grant funding processes and techniques
    • Research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors
