    Overview:


    Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation and presentation of a variety of analysis.

    The scope of the analysis includes operational and capital ROIs, monthly financial close analysis, and production of KPI metrics for both financial and operational metrics with associated benchmark reporting.

    In the course of their duties, the Senior Financial Analyst will support the Senior Director of Finance, NWH Executive Leadership, and Department Directors and managers.

    The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independantly to complete regular and ad-hoc assignments.


    Job Specific Responsibilities:

    • Supports the NWH Finance Team, with a level of leadership and guidance from the NWH Finance Team Manager and Director
    • Prepare periodic statistical summary reports for review by corporate and hospital leadership
    • Assist in the annual operating and capital budget development process; utilize the MGB sponsored budget system Hyperion to input budget assumptions, investigate and resolve issues and create report
    • Engage in projects relating to revenue and hospital billing by utilizing Epic EHR and EPSi cost accounting system
    • Resolve accounting, accounts payable and P&L related inquiries by analyzing data housed in PeopleSoft GL and Vision reporting system
    • Participate in the monthly financial close process which includes preparation of monthly general ledger journal entry request templates, development of analytical summaries and variance analyse
    • In collaboration with the NWH Finance Team and applicable clinical personnel, complete project-based tasks of financial implications to various clinical operational changes and initiative
    • Review current performance metrics to identify operational or financial opportunities and concern
    • Assist HR and Department Leads in position control metrics and reporting
    • Assist with other projects and routine assignments as needed
    Qualifications

    Education

    Required:
    Bachelor's degree with preference in Finance, Accounting or Economic


    Skills:

    • Excellent data analysis and computer skills particularly with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word application
    • Ability to think critically and independently in a team environment
    • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to take initiative.
    A "can do" attitude is necessary with a desire to excel in an environment where advancement is possible


    • EPSi, Hyperion, Epic, Peoplesoft experience preferred

    Experience:

    • 5+ years of work experience in financial setting, healthcare preferred

    Work Environment:
    Position will be either remote or with an option for hybrid remote with onsite availability in our Newton office space
