    Description

    We're Hiring: Data Center Technician III

    Join our team as a Data Center Technician III to assist in maintaining the operational integrity, security, and regulatory compliance of the data center. The role requires a strong knowledge of telecommunications, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems, as well as data center operating procedures.

    We are currently looking to fill positions for the Overnight Shift from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.

    As a Tier III technician, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the data center, including facility and telecommunications infrastructure maintenance. Some of your responsibilities will include:

    • Completing CoreSite's Data Center Operations Qualification Program within the first nine months of employment
    • Operate, monitor, and maintain facility systems including Electrical, Mechanical, Communications, Building Monitoring, and Control systems
    • Provide feedback on operational standards and processes efficacy
    • Work with contractors for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades
    • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules alongside senior technicians
    • Ensure maximum operational efficiency of the data center following CoreSite guidelines

    Responsibilities:

    The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

    • Managing day-to-day customer service and support
    • Completing infrastructure build-outs, rack and stack procedures, and cable terminations
    • Assisting in incident escalation, response, and report writing
    • Overseeing power installations and upgrades
    • Executing work order completion processes
    1. Completing infrastructure projects for internal and external clients
    • Developing solutions to complex problems using established procedures
    • Adhering to and upholding CoreSite's Principles of Operational Excellence
    • Providing mechanical and control expertise for the data center

    Requirements:

    To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

    • A thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers
    • Proficient knowledge of fiber optics, cabling infrastructure, and industry best practices
    • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and building codes related to fire life safety
    • Experience with data trending, tracking, and analysis

    Skills:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial and industrial systems including various components
    • Experience in fiber and copper communications cabling
    • Leadership abilities and strong written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications

    Abilities:

    • Effective communication with customers and internal staff
    • Coordination and supervision of maintenance contractors
    • Quick problem-solving and multitasking skills
    • Working in a process-driven team environment
    • Operation of hand and machine tools, as well as electrical tools

    Education/Experience:

    • High School Diploma or higher education
    • 2-5 years of experience in the data center industry
    • Must pass an extensive background check

    Compensation:

    The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses and equity based on performance.
