    **What is it that we do at Colonial Pipeline Company?**

    Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

    **About the Pipeline Integrity Staff Engineer Position**

    As a Pipeline Integrity Staff Engineer, you will analyze data about the pipeline system to understand how different integrity threats apply to pipeline segments or pipeline systems. This will be accomplished with the knowledge of applicable integrity threats, perform engineering analyses to determine fitness-for-service of pipelines in the presence of anomalies and defects, select appropriate testing and inspection methods and technologies, interpret results of those tests and inspections, make decisions on excavations and repairs, and propose follow-on activities to ensure safe operation of the pipeline system. This position will assist in the development of annual plan for pipeline integrity assessments. Determine specific requirements for pipeline integrity assessments, including the method (such as In-Line Inspection, hydrostatic testing, or external corrosion direct assessment) and techniques or technologies required (MFL, caliper, ultrasonics, etc. for ILI).

    **What You Get to Do:**

    + Review parameters of the inspection and assist pipeline integrity analysts in interpreting the results for ILI assessments.

    + Perform fitness-for-service calculations on metal loss, crack, and mechanical damage anomalies reported by ILI.

    + Assist in the selection of digs and ensure dig lists are issued and anomaly remediations are completed prior to regulatory deadlines.

    + Review the results of individual digs, support repair decisions as needed.

    + Develop and implement recommended practices outlined in API 1163 to assess the performance of the ILI tool and adjust scope of dig lists as needed (i.e., add/remove digs).

    + Analyze and document the results of dig findings and establish re-assessment intervals.

    + Determine minimum and maximum test pressures as well as the target test pressure and duration of any spike tests for hydrostatic test assessments.

    + Manage other pipeline integrity related projects or programs as assigned. Examples include root cause investigations of pipeline failures, pipeline cut-outs for the purpose of material property testing, etc.

    + Develop projects estimates, track committed costs, provide financial forecasts, and complete projects on time and on budget.

    + Review and provide input for updates to Colonials Integrity Management Program (IMP) Manual and Pipeline Maintenance Manual (PLMM). This includes, but is not limited to, engineering analysis processes and procedures, anomaly evaluation flowcharts, anomaly repair flowcharts, pipeline threat evaluations, etc.

    + Provide integrity engineering support for field projects staff, the engineering SME support for business development projects, mergers, and acquisitions, and provide support for the Company in responding to information requests from PHMSA and/or participating in regulatory audits and inspections.

    **What You Bring to the Table:**

    + Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

    + Ideally, 5+ years of engineering experience in pipeline integrity related field.

    + Ability to travel 20% of the time and available to work after hours and/or on weekends, if needed.

    + Ability to manage third-party engineering consultants.

    + Solid knowledge of pipeline system operations, integrity management programs, pipeline integrity threats and risk reducing mitigation strategies, engineering standards, material specifications, pipeline equipment, regulatory requirements (49 CFR Part 195), industry standards, and safe work practices.

    + Strong critical thinking, analytical, organization, technical writing, and communication skills along with an attention to detail.

    + Strong knowledge of pipeline integrity management, database systems and applications to gather the types of data that are generated in implementing an integrity program.
