    Job Summary:


    Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Financial Analyst monitors and maintains approved program budgets, analyzes and communicates variances to program managers and directors, and supports grant financial reporting and audit activities.


    Essential Functions:
    Set up and maintain program budgets in the accounting system.
    Perform budget versus actual expense variance analysis.
    Create and maintain financial dashboards for non-accounting users.
    Prepare financial reports for granting agencies and assist with grant close-outs.
    Liaise with software vendors to enhance financial systems' utilization and integration.
    Prepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and support financial compliance and insurance policy audits.
    Ensure compliance with tribal, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.

    Experience:
    Three years in a role such as staff accountant, auditor, or financial analyst.

    License:
    Valid Alaska State driver's license or agreement on alternative arrangements.

    Special Skills:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

    Physical and Working Conditions:
    Sedentary work with minimal physical requirements.
    Job involves working with computers and other office equipment.

    Travel Requirements:
    Local, in-state, and out-of-state travel may be required.
