    Description
    The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for designing foundations, retaining walls, earth dams, clay liners, geosynthetics, and other geotechnical structures. The role involves assessing soil, rock, and earth materials to ensure the safe and effective design, construction, and upkeep of infrastructure projects.

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Manage and supervise field crew activities.
    • Provide engineering guidance to project stakeholders and management on construction requirements.
    • Utilize design software and drawing tools to accurately communicate designs.
    • Collaborate with surveyors to establish necessary reference points for construction.
    • Coordinate with other professionals such as civil engineers, architects, and construction managers.
    • Set design specifications based on load requirements and material stress factors.
    • Plan projects using relevant materials and data.
    • Estimate project costs and monitor progress to ensure standards are met.
    • Inspect and maintain structures upon project completion.
    • Perform other assigned duties.
    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering software and computer programs.
    • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in computer-assisted design (CAD) software.
    • Understanding of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations.
    • Problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a focus on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, and Civil Engineering.
    • Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility for licensure.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of computer work and desk sitting.
    • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
    • Flexibility to travel to project sites and navigate construction areas.
    Salary and hourly wages are determined by experience.
