    We are seeking an energetic and driven Senior Director of Quality to lead Rheem's culture of quality and ensure the highest standards of product quality across all aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive competencies to drive progress and outcomes across design, supplier quality management, launch, manufacturing, transfer, change control, and customer satisfaction.

    This leadership role will serve the Rheem Enterprise headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The role will provide direct and dotted line leadership to both Enterprise Quality and Business Unit Quality teams.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO
    • Quality Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy to support business goals and objectives and fortify the customer-oriented culture of Rheem.
    • Design validation: Lead efforts to ensure product designs meet or exceed quality, performance, and regulatory standards, collaborating closely with product management, engineering, design, and operations teams.
    • Supplier Quality Management: Establish and maintain robust processes for evaluating, selecting, developing, and monitoring suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality materials and components.
    • Process Management: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance overall product quality and efficiency. Including key characteristic, PFMEA, control plan, and process monitoring activities.
    • Customer Quality: Ensure effective monitoring of customer feedback and satisfaction inputs and KPI to identify areas for action and improvement, implementing measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Quality Assurance Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing quality assurance team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the achievement of departmental goals and objectives. Goal is to become a preventive quality organization.
    • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate quality-related risks to minimize the impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, product management, finance, and customer service, to drive a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.
    • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Drive Results & Year over Year Improvements: Using all above bring results and improve the overall delivered product quality by building E2E quality.
    Responsibilities

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will measure the performance and success of the leader.

    Executive should have thorough knowledge of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) to ensure successful launch of reliable product that can meet or exceed targeted life of the product, implementing quality controls at suppliers and manufacturing plants, and resolving field issues swiftly with irreversible corrective actions. Progressive KPI to address end to end quality are as follows:
    • Design quality: Reliability Testing, NCP (Non conformances of prototypes), DFMEA Audits, DFM, DFA, Warranty Non-Conformances design, UL certifications & CSA.
    • Supplier quality: PPM or NCM (Non-Conformance Measure), On time PPAP performance, Warranty Non-Conformance supplier issues
    • Process quality: FPY, NCS (Non-Conformance Serial), Control Plan/PFMEA Audit, QMS Audit, OBA (Out of box audit), Quality Spill, Warranty Non-Conformances Process Issues, On time 8D Resolution & closure, DPPMO & CPk
    • Customer Quality: Warranty Non-Conformances Overall (90 days, and Years in Service tracking), Warranty Non-Conformance Plumbing & Installation, Problem resolution tracking, warranty spend as % sales.
    • Overall, Success: Flawless launch with zero issues at early containment in design hand over to process, progressive reduction of PPM, leading to zero quality spills, and significant reduction of field issues. All leading to improving actual and perceived quality index of Rheem products.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Proven track record of success in a senior quality management role, preferably in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
    • 15+ years of extensive experience in design quality, supplier quality management, process improvement, and customer quality.
    • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Experience in regulatory compliance and familiarity with relevant quality regulations and standards.
    • Proven ability to drive change and lead organizational transformation initiatives.
    • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is a plus.
    • Ability to travel, as required: 50% to plants, suppliers, and customers.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • MBA
    • Experience within HVAC/Water Heating or a similar Manufacturing organization. Knowledge and experience of heat transfer, compression, controls, welding, brazing, and other water heating + HVAC/R domains a plus.
