    Overview:

    This position reviews professional (physician) charges. Shift is flexible. Remote role.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to analyze medical record notes to ensure correct coding, billing compliance and complete charge capture.
    • Ability to research regulatory requirements.
    • Ability to clearly communicate findings with physicians.
    Description:
    • Conducts reviews of professional or hospital charges to ensure chart documentation supports billed codes by applying appropriate CPT and ICD-10 CM coding and governmental guidelines.
    • Formulates recommendations based upon the findings and communicating them to the appropriate personnel.
    • Conducts training sessions with physicians and staff as appropriate.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Five years of experience in CPT and ICD-10 CM coding.
    • Certified as a coding specialist (CCS), coding specialist physician (CCSP), procedural coder - hospital (CPC-H), or certified professional coder (CPC).
    • Multi-specialty practice and/or hospital experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly). Lifting 10 lbs max, carrying of small articles such as dockets, ledgers, files, small tools, occasional standing & walking, frequent sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste. chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
