    Job Title:
    Principal Geotechnical Engineer

    Overview


    A Multi-disciplinary Engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer for a leadership role in the Pacific Northwest.

    Their offices in Oregon and Washington provide a range of geotechnical engineering services, specializing in infrastructure projects including bridges, hillside design, retaining structures, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering.

    Contribute your expertise in complex project review and technical excellence.

    Responsibilities


    Technical Leadership:
    Apply advanced knowledge of industry methods, practices, and standards in geotechnical engineering.

    Provide senior-level review and mentorship on complex technical problems and project deliverables.

    Develop and update QA/QC programs and procedures to ensure project quality and compliance.

    Stay abreast of industry software and methodologies, guiding the team on best practices.


    Project Management:
    Conduct final technical reviews of project deliverables and correspondence.

    Oversee large-scale, complex projects, managing scope, schedules, and deadlines effectively.

    Direct project employees and ensure proper QA/QC management throughout the project lifecycle.


    Professional Development:
    Actively participate in professional organizations and associations.

    Lead internal brownbag presentations and occasionally present on technical topics.

    Stay updated with professional publications and attend relevant seminars for continuous learning.


    Communication & Leadership:
    Foster open and honest communication within the team, clients, and stakeholders.

    Mentor project managers and associates to enhance their skills and capabilities.

    Promote a positive, solution-oriented approach and embody company values and objectives.

    Qualifications


    Education & Experience:
    Master's Degree in a related technical field with 12+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.

    Professional certifications such as RG, CEG, PE, GE, or equivalent are required.
