    Position Overview

    Navistar is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our R&D team

    The Navistar R&D organization has multiple state of the art test operations around the country. These facilities support prototype builds and testing for medium and heavy duty vehicles as well as bus platforms. By using proven engineering and new leading technologies, Navistar takes mobility and transportation to the next level.

    The Senior Engineering Manager will assist with developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives while monitoring the effectiveness. In this position you will serve as both tactical and strategic contributor creating improved performance across the R&D Sites.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in driving process improvement initiatives using a variety of tools and software packages to identify and eliminate waste and improve efficiencies throughout the test operation.
    • Facilitate continuous improvement events to drive performance improvement and consistency throughout the test operation.
    • Support and assist with cross-functional projects to achieve monthly performance metrics.
    • Manage and maintain management reviews to help standardize operations across the R&D test sites.
    • Participate in corrective actions related to internal or external quality initiatives.
    • Monitor and support key metrics and KPIs for each R&D's site while monitoring effectiveness.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
    • At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
    • At least 2 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

    OR

    • Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
    • At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
    • At least 2 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

    OR

    • PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
    • At least 4 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
    • At least 2 years of experience managing technical professionals and technical staff in engineering and design activities

    Additional Requirements

    Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
