    Job Description

    Directly responsible to the Security Director in conjunction with school site administration, you will be performing school security duties in and around the Destiny Christian Academy site.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Ensure the safety and security of Destiny Christian Academy personnel, students, and visitors on school property and during school activities.
    • Provide security services for Destiny Christian Academy buildings, facilities, materials, bus stops, parking lots, and surrounding areas.
    • Patrol the buildings and grounds of the school campus.
    • Conduct foot and/or bike patrols in assigned areas before, during, and after school hours.
    • Oversee and monitor student/congregation activities as necessary.
    • Assist visitors in navigating school activities and premises.
    • Collaborate with school administrators to control unauthorized presence and movements of individuals.
    • Take necessary actions to handle disturbances effectively.
    • Work in coordination with site administration, Public Safety Officers, and external law enforcement.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services.
    • Use equipment and devices to carry out security duties efficiently.
    • Secure crime scenes, collect evidence, take statements, and conduct follow-up investigations.
    • Prepare accurate and concise reports using appropriate technology.
    • Maintain various records and reports related to security operations.
    • Follow established school procedures for reporting incidents.
    • Participate in ongoing training provided by the Security Director.
    • Take part in regular uniform inspections.
    • May need to operate school vehicles for assigned tasks.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.
    • May be required to testify in court.
    • May need to work evenings, weekends, and special events.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in security or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Familiarity with behavior modification strategies, campus control policies, and security regulations.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This role is typically performed in a standard work environment with occasional physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds. The position may involve walking or sitting for extended periods and exposure to various weather conditions. Manual dexterity and coordination are necessary while operating equipment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Dynamic working conditions require a flexible schedule with weekend and evening hours as needed. The employee must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize tasks, professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
