    Job Summary:


    The After School Care Provider at Lakeside Charter Academy is responsible for supervising and engaging students in a safe and nurturing environment after regular school hours.

    This position plays a crucial role in supporting the school's mission of providing high-quality education and fostering the overall well-being of its students.


    Responsibilities:

    • Student Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during the after school program. Supervise and monitor students' activities, maintaining a secure and welcoming atmosphere.
    • Program Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and programs that promote student engagement, socialization, and personal growth. Encourage participation in various recreational, artistic, and educational activities.
    • Homework Assistance: Provide assistance to students with their homework assignments and academic projects when needed, fostering a positive learning environment outside regular classroom hours.
    • Behavior Management: Promote positive behavior and address disciplinary issues promptly and professionally, following the school's behavior management policies.
    • Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care and share relevant information about students' progress or concerns.
    • Nutritional Support: Oversee snack time and ensure students have access to a nutritious and safe food environment. Address any dietary restrictions or allergies accordingly.
    • First Aid: Administer basic first aid and seek appropriate medical attention in case of injuries or emergencies. Keep accurate records of any incidents.
    • Cleaning and Organizing: Ensure the after school care area is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary materials for activities.
    • Attendance Tracking: Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed.
    • Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in after school care, child development, and safety regulations. Participate in relevant training sessions and workshops as required.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is a plus).
    • Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and facilitate engaging activities for children.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
    • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it upon hiring).
    • Reliable, responsible, and punctual with a genuine interest in the well-being of children.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.

    Working Conditions:


    The After School Care Provider will typically work Monday to Friday in the late afternoon and early evening hours, aligning with the school's after school program schedule.

    The job may involve standing, walking, and bending, as well as occasional lifting of materials and supplies. The work environment will be indoors, primarily within the school's designated after school care area.
