    Description

    The Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist's responsibility is to effectively manage and implement policies and programs as they relate to food safety, quality assurance and food defense. This position works closely with senior management to maintain impeccable quality and cleanliness standards on an audit-ready, every day basis.This position assurescompliance with federal and state regulations including HACCP & FSMA program guidelines. Assure that all quality testing and recording tasks are performed according to the standards.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Ongoing development, implementation and management of all aspects of quality programs. Includes maintaining SOP's and product specifications for all products. Evaluation of current practices and implementation of quality assurance program changes.

    Must have working knowledge of quality and food safety aspects, QA equipment, techniques, and procedures.

    Working understanding of sanitation and good manufacturing practicesand food safety.

    Oral and writtencommunication skills including computerand data entry skills.

    Drive for continual improvement with corrective and preventative action management.

    Support and assist QA Director withCustomer Audits, third party audits, FDA .

    Oversee QA Audit programto ensure BRC compliance.

    Oversee recordkeeping, documentation, and data collection, in the absence of the QA Manager. Oversee and ensure all production quality, safety andoperational records are maintained accurately and completely.

    Ensure equipment calibration records are up to date.

    Carry out the Environmental Monitoring testing per the Environmental Monitoring Program

    Provide a strong presence on the floor to assure compliance to process controls and to supportoperations. Coordinate Weekly Management walkthroughs and findings.

    Total understanding of all finishedproduct lines and quality standards.

    Manage training sessions and assist in the training of assigned employees in order to foster a safe, efficient work environment.

    Support the completion of customer questionnaires and requests in a timely manner including customer portal completion.

    Manage the investigation of customer complaints and support the response to customer complaints in a timely manner.

    Participate in HACCP and Food Defense Programs.

    Lead and Coordinate the Internal Audit Program.

    Manage the Supplier Approval and Monitoring Program.

    Responsible for Production Specification testing and completion.

    Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and works well with fellow employees, departments, and management. Expectations are for employees to be conscientious

    and treat others with openness, integrity and respect including a dedication to high quality standards for job and company. Exhibits good leadership skills and teaches by example.

    Expectations are to look for ways to improve operating efficiencies and identify any safetyand/or quality issues/suggestions for the improvement of process/production and reduce waste.

    Understands and follows safety requirements, procedures, and policies. Ensure that all employees understand and properly use safety equipment.

    Performs other job-related duties asassigned by membersof senior management.

    PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITIES

    Extensive experience in HACCP programs. Evidence of Regulatory and Food Defense knowledgeand experience.

    Certification requirements: HACCP,

    Certification Preferred : PCQI, InternalAuditing, Food Defense
