    Job Description

    Act as a CNC Machinist and Subject Matter Authority in our metal alloy production group. Responsible for programming, machining, and packaging of metal alloys into finished products. Follow work instructions to complete shop orders promptly. Ensure the quality and accuracy of finished orders.

    Roles and Responsibilities
    Apply standard methodologies and techniques to improve profitability in producing quality parts
    Build, edit, and complete the use of programs on all equipment
    Safely apply equipment such as a Lathe, Mill, Saw, or Laser Engraver
    Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any accidents to a manager or safety officer
    Perform assigned duties using IFS including but not limited to inventory adjustments, entering labor time, and adjusting shop order quantities as needed to facilitate workflow through DSP
    Maintain inventory of components using our ERP system
    Perform hazardous waste coordinator duties including inspections and waste pickups
    Exemplify the LGC core values on a day-to-day basis
    Maintain, monitor, and repair equipment as needed
    Assist in the NPD process associated with machining production

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
    Associate degree with exposure to science (e.g. chemistry or biology); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred
    Microsoft Office skills and ERP system familiarity required
    Proficient in math
    Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety

    Preferred
    2 to 4 years of production experience preferred
    2 to 4 years of CNC Lathe Programming and Machining

    Proficiencies & Behaviours
    Ability to take precision measurements
    Ability to identify metal alloys by appearance (weight, color, hardness, etc.)
    Ability to find and maintain accurate orientation of cast metal disks through the manufacturing process
    Experience of basic operation of machine tools (CNC Lathe and CNC Mill) to support production machinists
    Experience machining different types of alloys preferred (Nickel, Magnesium, Zinc, Cast Iron, etc.)
    Sophisticated digital literacy (CNC programming, word, excel, etc.)
    Excellent verbal and communication skills and attention to detail
    Self-motivated
    Demonstrate the ability to tackle practical problems
