    Description


    Manages all terminal operations in accordance with plans within the parameters of customer requirements, management direction and safe working practices to achieve maximum levels of productivity and customer service by optimum utilisation of recourses (Medium Operations) PURPOSE: The Manager of Yard Operations is responsible for managing all yard container handling, CFS, and gate activities with due regard to safety, high production and quality. Ensuring maximum production levels with efficient utilization of labor and equipment, while accurately collaborating/communicating to all levels of our organization and our customers. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Structure and establish goals and procedures, set priorities and efficiently execute daily tasks with considerations to safety, high production, lower cost, and efficient utilization of equipment and labor.

    Implement Yard Strategy with yard team in TOS for RTG operations. Implement Safe practices for a hybrid RTG/Top Loader operations. Manage Change from Top Loaders to RTG operations in line with our development plans.

    Lead TOS upgrades aligned with terminal daily requirements as well as expansion plans Review Traffic Flows for all terminal operations, Marine, yard, and Gate. Manage the training, development and accountability of the execution team, collaborating with centralized strategy. Daily monitoring of safety, yard efficiencies, cost reduction, production and security.

    Responsible for controlling and executing the complete yard process in order to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency with due consideration to vessel and inter-modal operations. Manage continuous process of yard integrity while performing on-going space utilization analysis working with strategy and optimization team. Maintain the safest working conditions for yard operations while ensuring that all company, state and federal laws and policies are adhered to.

    Also provide clear direction and understanding to all ILA employee's and assistant managers. Oversee that ILA contract is followed and hold labor accountable accordingly. Participation in the grievance process as necessary.

    Build, maintain and enhance relationships between departments, steamship lines, affiliated business units and local unions. Promote good will among internal and external customers, vendors and truckers. Exceed all service requirements while staying within contractual boundaries.

    Support the management of customer service initiatives to include new CFS business, maintaining and building upon existing BCO relationships, and improvement of service that we offer. Lead Mobile's Way of

    Working initiatives for the yard through training, problem solving, Kaizen and continuous improvement. Support Global Initiative's, with an improvement management mindset. CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    Necessary to perform the requirements of the position: Education – Minimum four (4) year degree from an accredited college or equivalent Terminal Operations working experience of five (5) years, Required experience with RTG yard required, super user in N4 or similar TOS. Accountability
