The Sentinel of Rockland, an assisted living facility located in Montebello, is looking for compassionate HHA's (Home Health Aides) to join our team of caring professionals.

POSITION TITLE: HHA\ Personal Care Aide
SUMMARY: Provide service, assistance and support to the residents with their personal care needs.
REPORT TO: Lead PCA
ESSENTIAL JOB:. Follow the assistance plan in providing services to residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development and updating of care plans.
Ensure that assistance plans are completed and updated in a timely manner.
Follow housekeeping and laundry schedules.
Do personal laundry for residents, if so, requested on the assistance plan.
Strip and make residents' beds weekly; launder residents' linen and towels, fold and return them to residents.
Assist in preparing meals, serving meals and bussing tables during mealtimes.
Clean residents' rooms by making beds and as outlined in the assistance plan.
Encourage socialization among residents.
Encourage and/or remind residents to participate in activities. Promote activities enthusiastically to pique residents' interest.
Monitor health, safety and well-being of residents.
Document information pertaining to changes in residents' functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc.
Assist in keeping the environment safe for residents.
Provide one-on-one support when needed.
Report concerns about residents to Administration.
Respond to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention/follow-up.
Arrange for transportation services.
Assist with bathing and showering as per assistance plan.
Provide assistance with grooming, shaving and dressing.
Assist in the development of staff work schedules.
Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools and utensils.
Carry out other duties as assigned by REPORT TO.
Assist in other areas of the same department. Assistance in other departments are to be approved by supervisor.
