- Highschool education or trad school certification
- Knowledge of NFPA standards
- Not afraid of heights and able to go up in a boom and/or scissor lift
- Self-motivated
- MUST have a clean record no violent or aggressive misdemeanors
- MUST have a clean driving record: no DUIs, super speeders within 3 years
- Company vehicle will be provided
- Understanding of blueprints/drawings to determine device locations and placement.
- Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings
- Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place
- Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
- Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Protect and maintain company equipment.
- Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer's safety instructions for that equipment.
- Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Perform other duties assigned by management.

An Insight Global Client in the Mississippi area is looking for a Portables Service Technician.
This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices such as handheld fire extinguishers, pre-engineered systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, paint booths and overhead fire sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.
Specialized experience is not required and on the job training is provided.
