Description
Program Description:For MLB at Rickwood, Major League Baseball aims to empower students from the HBCU community in the greater Alabama area. This initiative supports MLB's ongoing efforts to honor the legacy of the Negro Leagues. Students will be involved in establishing local community activations and collaboratively creating digital marketing assets. These efforts are designed to contribute to the education and retention of the historic day, MLB at Rickwood, scheduled for June 20, 2024.
Curriculum:
The Major League Baseball Marketing Bootcamp will be a contextually relevant professional learning experience for select college students from HBCUs and colleges in the Birmingham area. This program will include five sessions, which will provide students with a real-life simulation of a job in marketing at MLB. The goal for the program is to educate students on marketing processes, and give them the opportunity to develop marketing ideas around "MLB at Rickwood Field," a game celebrating the Negro Leagues taking place in Birmingaham this June.
