SAGE Dining Services is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team.

The desired candidate will serve as a bridge between the Systems and Software Engineering teams, implementing deployment processes within our AWS infrastructure.

We are an Agile shop. The candidate will also assist in building and maintaining the AWS infrastructure itself, via configuration management tools.

SAGE's home office is in Lutherville, MD, but this position is fully remote.

Candidates must live in the United States and must be authorized to work in the United States and will be employees of SAGE.

This is not a 1099 position. In addition, the person taking this position will be required to travel to the SAGE Home office each quarter.

What You'll Do

Help maintain a world-class SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Cloud Infrastructure.

Software Engineering teams in simplifying development process (abstraction, right-sized capacity and scalability, A/B testing and deployment, simplifying environments, and rapid recovery).

Own the build & deploy lifecycle; drastically reduce build, deploy & rollback times while simultaneously reducing risk and exposure.
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems Implement and improve monitoring and alerting.
Integrate and improve configuration management (mostly Ansible, some Puppet).
Work collaboratively and demonstrate teamwork, dependability and confidentiality.
Keep abreast of the latest cyber security practices and tools.

What You'll Need

5 years hands on, production-level experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and related orchestration technologies; IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform; Github Actions or GitLab CI; Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Ruby.

Minimum 5 years of production-level experience in a DevOps, software development, or an infrastructure engineering role.
Experience with Atlassian tool stack.
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, TICK Stack, etc.
Advanced knowledge of AWS and AWSCLI including: EC2, ECS, VPC, ELB/ALB, SNS, SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch.
Strong knowledge and understanding of CI/CD pipeline automation and tools.
Ability to present and communicate the architecture in diagrams and documentation.
Strong Linux system administration background.
