    Description

    JOB SUMMARY and KEY OBJECTIVES:

    Ensures that the company facility is kept in good repair and working order.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
    • Serves as electrician in repairing minor electrical malfunctions and installing new equipment.
    • May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems, and in opening clogged drains.
    • Acts as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
    • May operate hand saw, planer, joiner, shaper, table saw, wood lathe, drill press, sanding machine, router, and electric drill.
    • Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
    • May perform minor repairs to air conditioning system as required, and see to general maintenance of system.
    • Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the field of general repairs, including at least one year's experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
    • May be required to hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license or a commercial license.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor's instructions.
    • General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades.
    • Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions.
    • Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing.
    • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment.
    • Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
    • Computer knowledge
    • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
