- Help ensure high-quality programming. Offer input on program goals, program design, and evaluations of program activities
- Enter participants and program data into various computer databases and other tracking systems and ensure that systems are up-to-date
- Create a nurturing and supportive, safe environment for participants
- Establish and monitor quality assurance of program goals in compliance with the agency and contract expectations
- With the Program Coordinator plan and facilitate staff meetings and orientation. Provide and coordinate staff training
- Promote teamwork and collaboration among staff
- Assist with generating statistical reports
- Assist with completion of each staff member's annual performance review
- Develop and build relationships with parents and families of program participants.
- Attend internal and external agency meetings and training
- Submit monthly reports to supervisor
- Gather information needed for proposals, reports, and program management
- Ensure that participants' files contain required paperwork and information
- Update information on community resources (e.g. bulletin boards)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Serve as Safety Monitor and collaborate with Program Coordinator to ensure that all COVID-19 safety regulations are in place
- Conduct daily screening for children who enters the facility
- Support parents with completing Learning Lab and Afterschool Application
- Identify, obtain and organize educational resources, materials and curriculum guides for thematic periods.
- Review Counselors' lesson plans with a particular focus on literacy, ensuring that activities are child-centered, age-appropriate, thematic, experiential, educationally sound, and engaging.
- Provide assistance to Counselors in the development of lesson plans. Plan lessons for staff as needed.

- Support Program Coordinator and staff with development of program themes. Provide resources, lessons and materials to infuse theme into programming.
- Plan special events and other innovative programming · Assist with supervision of children and/or provide coverage as needed (on or off-site)
- Assist with supervision of Senior Counselors. Identify staff needs (supplies, training, classroom management)
- Provide feedback to Program Director and Program Coordinator on the development of the educational component
- Create and maintain an educationally enriching environment including bulletin boards, displays and library.
- Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, word processing, and typing, photocopying and sorting mail.
- Enter weekly attendance in DYCD Database and prepare monthly meal report
- Implement various recreational, educational, social, and team building activities
- Provide classroom management and instruction during afterschool time and as needed
- Provide program supervision of program in the absence of Program Coordinator
- Attend DYCD and agency trainings as required
- Meet monthly with Program Coordinator for supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent credentials required, an Associates Degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year of administrative work experience preferred.
- Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred
- Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
