    ARC is a thriving, dynamic, and fast-paced healthcare system environment where compassion, accountability, respect for the dignity of life, entrepreneurship, and stewardship are key elements of every thing we do We are hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for our growing team The Behavioral Health Technician p rovides direct and indirect patient care throughout the client's stay along with personal care and comfort of clients.


    Key Responsibilities:
    + Performs and records patient vital signs and notifies RN of any changes. + Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status, and activities, and notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences. + Demonstrates the ability to identify behaviors that require intervention. + Escorts and observes clients during activities, meals, visitation, and groups. + Able to perform patient safety checks at scheduled times, and documents appropriately. + Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques. + Orients patients to the facility. + Acts as a liaison to all areas of persons served/client care, medical staff, admission staff, nursing staff, and clinical staff. + Participates in treatment team meetings. Communicate appropriately and clearly. + Perform 15-minute observation rounds and documents appropriately. + Assists in the orientation of new staff members. + Assists with therapeutic educational groups in conjunction with the nursing and clinical team. + Responsible for one-on-one observation and constant visual observation for high-risk patients. + Responsible for assisting patients needing additional care related to medical needs. + Provides general nursing care, i.e., transferring patients and assisting with daily activities (ADLs). + Performs other duties as assigned. + Strives to create a safe, healing environment for patients and family members + Follow all safety rules while on the job. + Reports errors and accidents promptly. + Communicates and corrects minor safety hazards. + Attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job-specific safety.     Key Experience and Education Needed:
    + Required:
    High school diploma or GED. + CPR and CPI (de-escalation technique certification).


    • Preferred:
    Some college classes.


    • Preferred:
    Certified Nursing Assistant certification + May substitute experience for education + Required:
    Previous experience in a healthcare setting


    • Preferred:
    One (1) year of experience as a behavioral health technician


    • Preferred:
    Experience as a Patient Care Associate


    • Preferred:
    College-level students on track to become a nurse or counselor.


    Other Qualifications to be Considered:
    + Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and recovery-driven service system + Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity + Knowledge and competency in problem-solving, stress management, ethics and team building + Computer literate with experience in Windows and Google environments. + Knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact of alcohol and other drugs on the individual and family + Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction + Ability to interact with staff and persons served/clients in a professional manner + Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities + Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner + Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and healthy relationship with clients served + Demonstrates accountability for ensuring the highest quality patient care for patients. + Willingness to be accepting of those in need, and to extend a helping hand + Desire to go above and beyond for others + Understanding and accepting of cultural diversity and differences + Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time + Ability to read detailed health records + Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. + Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office + Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community ARC full-time employees enjoy very attractive benefits packages for employees and their families to include health, dental, vision, life insurance, a wide array of ancillary insurance products for life's needs, 401(k) plan with company matching and to ensure the work-life balance - generous paid vacation, sick, holiday and maternity/paternity leave policies.
