    Description

    1. List Major/Essential Job Duties:

    Strategic Leadership:

    Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive sustainable finance go-to-market strategy, and a competitive and differential value proposition for the U.S. market, leveraging existing BBVA's global products, services, and structures and adapting as appropriate for the U.S. market, as well as developing new products and services as appropriate for the market.

    Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

    Originate new business opportunities jointly with the SIX team and other lines of business, focusing on pitching and structuring, supporting sustainable finance transactions providing tools to properly serve clients in green economy sectors, and accelerate clients' decarbonization journeys in mainstream sectors.

    Provide sustainability expertise to the SIX team and other lines of business, and accompany them as they engage with potential clients, building a robust portfolio of sustainable finance relationships and deals.

    Collaborate with existing clients to deepen their engagement with sustainable finance products and services.

    Develop strategic partnerships to originate new business and to create a competitive sustainable value proposition.

    Provide specialized advisory to the Risk unit about the clients specific operations and/ or corporate events. Build and maintain a fluent communication with the Risk units, in order to promote the knowledge and understanding of this clients' segment.

    Elaborate different presentations and documentation (clients' due diligence, pitchbooks, corporate models, etc.).

    Develop analytic/excel models to understand the cost/saving impact of the ESG proposals on the client side.

    Market Development:

    Stay informed about market trends and regulatory changes related to energy transition, decarbonization and sustainability.

    Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within the US market, taking into account the evolving landscape of sustainable finance.

    Product Development:

    Innovate and develop new sustainable financial products and services, and advisory to meet the evolving needs of clients and segments within the US in partnership with lines of business including risk and credit.

    Collaborate with internal and external partners to create solutions for sustainable finance clients that support accelerated decarbonization and impact reporting.

    Provide support to clients' compliance to US and international standards, including ISSB, TCFD, SEC, CSRD and others.

    2. Skills, knowledge, and abilities/competencies:

    Skills:

    Solid understanding of banking products, loans, bonds, etc...

    Experience in interacting with internal departments involved in the functions described above: risk, lending, transactional banking, global markets, legal, compliance, etc. and the ability to coordinate people from those different teams.

    Solid understanding of ESG trends, concepts, regulation, ratings or taxonomies.

    Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with clients on decarbonization technologies and green industry verticals, including Traditional Clean Power (wind, solar, biomass, CSP), Clean Tech (H2, CCUS, Biofuels, LDES, etc.),EV & Charging Stations, Transmission & Distribution,, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Solutions (waste management, water, circular economy solutions).

    Ability to develop a strategic dialogue and provide advisory and specific financial solutions to accelerate clients' decarbonization journeys in mainstream sectors.

    Strategic thinking to develop a differential value proposition, including advisory and financial solutions for the client segments described above.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics; or engineering, law or similar grade.

    7 to 10 years of experience in banking. Experience in sustainable finance is an advantage.

    Preference: MBA
