- Treatment Planning and Implementation: Based on their assessments, speech-language pathologists develop tailored treatment plans to address clients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. They implement these plans through individual or group therapy sessions, utilizing various techniques and strategies.
- Client Education and Counseling: Speech-language pathologists provide education and counseling to clients and their families to help them understand communication disorders, treatment goals, and strategies for improving communication and swallowing abilities. They may also offer guidance on strategies to facilitate communication outside of therapy sessions.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Speech-language pathologists collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care for their clients. They also maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes to track clients' progress and communicate with other professionals involved in their care.
