METAL FABRICATOR 2nd Shift - Columbia, United States - JC Ford Co

Description

Sheet Metal Operator will be responsible for setting up the following machines to run production or prototypes. Employees must be able to self-inspect parts and troubleshoot. The employee will work with the Engineering team to ensure the quality of work.

RequirementsSelect types of sheet metal needed for projectsMeasure and accurately mark reference lines and dimensions on metal sheetsDrill holes in metal for rivets, bolts, and screwsUse precise measuring tools such as scales, calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and confirm accuracyOperate an AMADA machinery to bend metal using works orders, drawings and specifications to determine necessary setup and materialsLoad and feed machine as neededInstall and align machine accessories either manually with hand tools or by inputting coordinates into the machine control panelManipulate machine controls to implement cutting adjustmentsMaintain a safe and clean work environmentComply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.

Account for time and work completed via the online computer data collection system.

Assist with additional tasks as neededEducation:

• High school Diploma or similar degree

GEDExperience and Background:
Demonstrate competency in basic shop math.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in a cross-functional team.
