    DESCRIPTION

    The position aims to lead a team involved in operating equipment, maintenance, and repairs on roadways and infrastructure. The role includes installing, repairing, and maintaining water distribution systems following department guidelines and regulations. Supervision of assigned assets or contractors may be required. The job also involves 24/7 rotating on-call duties.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Lead and perform tasks related to water and sewer utility systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
    • Coordinate daily work, assign tasks, and evaluate project progress.
    • Engage in water utility operations such as establishing new services and inspecting meters.
    • Participate in street, roadway, and drainage projects, including concrete work and asphalt maintenance.
    • Ensure a safe work environment, including traffic control and equipment operation.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education: High School diploma or GED

    Experience: One year in construction, repair, or maintenance of public infrastructure.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Demonstrated knowledge in water distribution systems and maintenance practices.
    • Familiarity with water and sewer line repair procedures.
    • Skills in pipe laying, supervision, and equipment operation.
    • Proficiency in proposing project means and methods.
    • Experience with operating backhoes, rollers, and other relevant equipment.
    • Effective communication and ability to work independently.
    Certification(s): Water distribution certification is beneficial.

    Licensing: Must have a valid driver's license.

    Other:
    • Pass Fort Eisenhower criminal background check.
    • Available for staff call up in emergencies and travel to different sites.
