    JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

    This position will serve as financial analyst for a Regional or Business leader. It is responsible for conducting complex financial analysis and modeling for the assigned area of responsibility; leading monthly meetings with area leadership to provide consultation on financial performance and budgetary trends; recommends cost savings or enhancement practices as applicable; supports other departmental and organization wide initiatives as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyzes financial information to determine present and forecast future financial performance and articulates outcomes of analysis to Regional or Business Unit Executives as well as Chief Banking Officer/Chief Operating Officer; provides interpretation of financial trends to aid in strategic decision making.
    • Leverages reporting and presentations from Finance Support to communicate analysis of results to area leadership; clearly articulates outcomes to various leadership teams.
    • Partners with business leadership to assess financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the business unit; proactively identifies and resolves financial issues.
    • Performs analysis to identify business unit performance and budget trends recommends improvements accordingly; assists in the development, input, and finalization of the budget, planning and other financial requirements for area of responsibility.
    • Assists in the preparation of monthly variance reports and leads monthly management reviews with P&L Stakeholders within the area of responsibility; conducts applicable research for variances.
    • Evaluates complex budgets, operating records, and financial statements to indicate return on investment or project status; performs analysis to assess justification for capital expenditures.
    • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies; aids in strategic decisions for business leadership.
    • Coordinates with various levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.
    • Supports business unit initiatives, projects, and ad hoc requests.
    • Partners with Finance and other business units relating to financial questions and requests.
    • May partner on organization wide projects and ad hoc requests from Chief Banking Officer/Chief Operating Officer that are finance related.
    • May provide guidance or supervision to junior-level analysts.
    • Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other related and applicable areas; MBA, MSF, or CPA preferred
    • 7+ years of experience in financial analysis or accounting; a comparable combination of education and experience considered
    • Previous related experience within a Financial Institution preferred
    • Thorough knowledge of financial statements, financial analysis, and business strategies
    • Applicable working knowledge of the banking industry preferred
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPivot, Word) required
    • Knowledge of Smartview/Hyperion, Finance, Database, and Reporting Tools are preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and time management skills required

    • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
    • Ability to travel
    • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
