General Purpose of Job:
The staff nurse is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members. May also function as charge nurse as necessary. Is accountable to unit supervisor of assigned unit. The Registered Nurse operates within the framework of Driscoll Children's Hospital Mission Statement, Vision and Values.

3⁄4 Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing with current licensure in the State of Texas
3⁄4 Pediatric experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.
Current Registered Nurse in the State of Texas Delete category if not applicable.
Current BLS and NRP certification.
Successful completion of DCH orientation, Code Management, HIS/LIS course, and medication orientation.
Annual completion of DCH mandatory safety inservices.
Advanced certification , RNC-NIC, CCRN, etc., required within 2 years of hire
