We're looking for candidates who have:

• A Master's degree in fields related to Criminal Justice from an accredited college/university OR requisite career experience to meet the Higher Learning Commissions requirements for being a "highly qualified" faculty member.
• Experience teaching at the college level is preferred, but not required.
• A passion for CCU's Strategic Priorities and for Christian higher education.

Key Job Duties

• Contribute to CCU's mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. Affiliate Faculty contribute to the University's mission by enhancing and advancing exemplary academics, spiritual growth, and engagement with the world.
• The Affiliate Faculty in Criminal Justice will teach in-seat Criminal Justice classes during the fall and/or spring semesters.
• This Affiliate Faculty position has no guarantee of employment, it is on an as needed basis.
• In collaboration with the faculty of the Department of Social Sciences, the Affiliate Faculty of Criminal Justice will advise and mentor Criminal Justice students as is deemed necessary by the CUS Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
• The Affiliate Faculty of Criminal Justice will provide strategic thinking in fulfilling the goals of CUS Department of Criminal Justice in support of the University Strategic Objectives
• The Affiliate Faculty in Criminal Justice will provide effective servant leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.

Nature of Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

CUS affiliate faculty pay is normally paid at $1,000 per credit hour.

However, the University will decide if and how the course will be delivered based on the number of students or type of program.

In cases where there is not full enrollment CCU reserves the right to pay courses or on a per student basis that could be at a pro-rated basis or a flat rate based on the nature of the program and enrollment.

For example, pay rates for individual music lessons, educational programs, and lab courses programs may vary.
