We are looking for an experienced R&D Systems & Data Analyst who will work in partnership with GPPM (Global Portfolio & Project Management) to deliver key digital solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background as both a business analyst and in data analytics within the pharmaceutical industry.

This individual will be instrumental in driving project success through effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, analyzing and improving business processes, and leveraging data analytics to improve data quality.

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of R&D processes and workflows and the ability to manage project requirements from inception to completion.

Role Responsibilities

Business Process Analysis
Support cross-functional teams in gathering project requirements and ensuring that timelines are met.
Lead, analyze, document, and communicate the user requirements.
Manage changes in requirements over the project lifecycle.
Help analyze business processes to identify improvements and assist in implementing solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Leads the development of testing plans and scripts and assist during UAT to ensure requirements are met
Contribute to gap analyses under the guidance of senior analysts to find process enhancement opportunities.
Data Management & Analytics
Design and generate data quality reports and tools to aid R&D teams in making informed, data-driven decisions.
Ensure the integrity of data and adherence to data governance and privacy standards.
Capability to analyze large volume of data and identify data quality issues.
Project Management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Monitor project progress and assist in identifying potential risks under the direction of project managers.
Communicate project status to stakeholders.

For smaller projects, lead as a project manager working with the technical team to ensure project timelines are met and communicate project status to management.

Support Strategic and Operational Tasks
Provide support in strategic planning sessions and operational meetings.
Help identify potential improvements in business processes and digital solutions
Provide guidance and support to team members.

Establish relationships with customers and members of the project team and liaise between the business and technical members of the project team, ensuring that the project team understands the customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Biotech and/or Pharma IT environments.

Occasional business travel within US

Work Location Assignment:

Must be able to work from a designated AstraZeneca office 3 days per week, or as needed by the business.

Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned provide cross-functional and business knowledge to develop business system and process alternatives.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst role working with R&D systems in the biotech/pharma industry.
Experience creating documentation like business cases, requirement specifications, test scripts and coordinating validation efforts.
Good Project Management skills
Ability to drive initiatives from start to finish under general guidance.
Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
Strong problem-solving skills.

Education & Certifications

BS degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science or other related fields) from an accredited college/university
