    SUMMARY


    The Finance Manager performs a variety of professional level functions in the areas of: grant accounting, compliance, and reporting; financial analysis; policy development; Accounts Payables oversight; and the annual Single Audit.

    Responsible for the timely and accurate management of all aspects of grants accounting, including monthly grant billings, pre-award planning, budgeting, and analysis, forecasting, and reporting, complying with all applicable requirements.

    Performs quality control reviews of invoices related to grants and monitors the collections of payments on all grants. Prepares monthly financial reporting package that includes spend-down, receivables aging, and other KPIs each month. Supports overall organization budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis.


    PRIMARY DUTIES


    regularly with internal (Grants and various Program departments) and external stakeholders (funders) to provide the highest level of customer service around financial management and sustainability.

    as a key contact for all grants and organizational financial activity; provide financial analysis, management support, and guidance.

    review, and distribute monthly financial reports to internal stakeholders – Executive and Senior Leadership – on a timely basis as a part of monthly closing procedures, consistently meeting monthly deadlines.

    Grants department and other internal teams with information requests to complete grant proposals – provide financial analysis and supporting documents.

    with Grant Managers to comply with funder's terms and conditions, manage deliverables, monitor spending, request amendments, determine funding gaps, opportunities and plan spend-down.

    generally accepted accounting principles and Federal regulations to prepare grant reporting to include all allowable expenditures.
    the preparation and issuance of a monthly grants dashboard.
    organization budget creation, budget projections, and analysis.
    processes for streamlined grants financial administration.
    the labor distributions for grants driven from the annual budget process and adjusts as needed. Coordinates with HR and Payroll to ensure allocations are up to date. Reviews monthly salary tables generated for grant support.
    timely and accurate processing of grant related revenues and expenses.
    all Federal grant-related schedules for annual audit requirements and completes other duties related to the annual audit, as needed.
    dashboard metrics and communicate them with the President and Senior Management.
    compliance with the government auditing standards towards monitoring of fiscal controls.

    oversite of the Accounts Payable process working with the Accounts Payables Specialist to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments.


    SECONDARY DUTIES
    Ensures that inquiries are responded to in a professional manner within one business day. Assist in researching any problems and make appropriate adjustments/corrections to successfully resolve the problem. Monitor that follow-up contacts are being made at least every 48 hours until the problem is resolved.
    Works on special projects as approved by supervisor, balancing priorities to ensure projects progress simultaneously and within established deadlines.
    Assists with annual audit preparation including any analysis schedules as assigned.
    Maintains all accounting and permanent files related to grants.


    OTHER DUTIES
    Maintains a neat and organized work area including access to essential information.
    Attends all staff meetings and other meetings as directed.
    Assists with and attend special events held by St. Vincent de Paul, as necessary.

    Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    4 years experience in accounting/finance, nonprofit field preferred.
    2 years experience working with grants.
    Supervisory experience
    Budgeting experience
    Sophisticated nonprofit fund and federal grant accounting and management strongly preferred;

    In addition to possessing skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and data management systems required.

    Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with vendors, volunteers, and staff to provide clear instruction on expected deliverables and outcomes.

    Demonstrated skill in providing a high level of service to multiple customers, ideally in a nonprofit context.
    Experience working as part of a team delivering coordinated services highly desirable.
    Possess excellent organizational and time management skills to be able to efficiently prioritize work and meet identified deadlines.

    Ability to work in a face-paced environment, keep all work current and accurate, and respond to identified department deadlines with a sense of urgency.

    Experience in a professional office environment.
    Excellent problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work independently.
