We are the nation's largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications. We manufacture and market prestressed concrete (PC) strand and welded wire reinforcement, including engineered structural mesh, concrete pipe reinforcement, and standard welded wire reinforcement for concrete reinforcement applications. The company operates ten manufacturing facilities in eight states.
About You
The person we are looking for will be safety minded, reliable and capable of precision forklift operations.
Position Snapshot
An Insteel Material Handler is commonly expected to:
Review safety checklists for forklift being operated before starting and sign-off on checklist.
Check all fluid levels at beginning of shift.
Moves materials (such as raw materials, finished product, etc.) to the production areas, cleaning areas, storage areas, inbound vehicles, outbound vehicles, etc. as directed.
Keep accurate records tracking the number of coils at beginning of shift, during shift, and at end of shift.
May move dumpsters and/or empty dumpsters of scrap as needed.
May weigh carriers of wire.
May enter data in computer to track material.
To be successful in this role you will be required to use judgement and to use acquired job knowledge to comply with the instructions and standard procedures, methods or practices involving the making of minor decisions.
