    Location:
    Boston, MA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote weekly)

    Vertex currently operates at the forefront of rare disease scientific innovation and has successfully developed and commercialized multiple breakthrough medicines for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Sickle Cell Disease.

    In addition to clinical development programs in CF, Vertex has more than a dozen ongoing research programs focused on the underlying mechanisms of other serious diseases including programs in Type 1 diabetes, hemoglobinopathies, APOL-1 Mediated Kidney Disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, and pain.

    In this key strategic role, the Director will be a critical leader within the Heme Global Commercial team supporting CASGEVY (exagamglogene autotemcel, or 'exa-cel').They will be accountable for driving the full Global potential of this first-of-its-kind innovation across both indications.

    Co-Lead and successfully develop CASGEVY LCM commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
    Spearhead special strategic projects with VP/DAE in line with business priorities
    Partner with International and across functions on innovative ways aimed at reaching our global patients, focusing on expansion opportunities
    Lead, develop and champion disease strategy documents, including Brand Plan
    Partner with Competitive Intelligence to articulate the Heme portfolio positioning and inform response & reaction to market events
    Support the global commercial team by providing clear direction for the Heme portfolio as the primary forum for commercial collaboration and alignment
    Evaluates ROI for activities of the brand
    Manage Heme global commercial governance body's agenda and priorities to drive senior management endorsement
    Bachelor's degree required
    Advanced degree in business or scientific discipline is preferred
    Experience with International markets and diverse commercialization models

    Consulting background preferred:
    ability to autonomously drive strategic projects, including framing complex challenges, opportunity assessments, and senior leader communication
    Demonstrated ability to develop brand strategy, assess trade-offs, and monitor performance
    Experience in pharmaceutical industry or closely related field(s) (e.g. healthcare consulting, etc.)
