- Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based
- Promotes evidence-based practice for the Transplant Center treatment
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, meet the licensure requirements in your home state; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
- BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program upon hire/transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
- 5 years nursing experience including critical/acute care preferred, and experience in at least one of the following: end stage organ disease, solid organ transplantation, hematology, and/or blood and marrow transplantation preferred.
- Previous management experience preferred. Leadership skills demonstrated by an increase of responsibilities which may include working in the role of charge nurse, preceptor, administration, or participation in professional organizations/committees preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the American Board of Transplant Coordination Certification (CCTC) preferred, required within two years of employment.
- CPR Certification required.

Job SummaryThe RN Transplant is a professional registered nurse and a designated member of the
transplant team who provides comprehensive nursing care through skillful assessment,
diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in
accordance with facility or department policies, procedures, and/or protocols under the
supervision of the nursing leader. The RN works with patients and their families
beginning with the evaluation and will continue through the transplant process. The RN
assists in maintaining a safe work environment and performs all related job
responsibilities in a safe manner. The RN maintains clinical and professional
competency as appropriate to the population of patients served. A registered nurse's
practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
