    PhD - Psychology

    The CU Division of Social Science is seeking a psychologist for a tenure-track position teaching a variety of courses in the psychology program.

    Primary responsibilities will be teaching in both face-to-face and online settings, academic advising, mentoring of students, developing classes for online delivery, committee assignments, scholarship, and working with colleagues in the Psychology Department to maintain and advance the program.

    Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, particularly those with online teaching experience. Candidate should submit a current CV and unofficial transcripts when applying.

    Responsibilities:


    • Develop lectures, demonstrations, assignments, and enrichment activities to successfully deliver course content in both face-to-face and online settings
    • Teach a variety of coursework within the Psychology curriculum
    • Serve as an academic advisor and maintain regular office hours for advising students
    • Participate in academic unit meetings and cooperate with other members of the Social Science Faculty
    • Participate in events and initiatives aimed at meeting departmental and divisional recruitment and retention goals
    • Serve on committees; sponsor student activities; attend chapel services, commencement programs, Faculty Forum and other meetings; and otherwise participate in University life
    • Support the institution's Christian mission, including being a Christian role model for students
    • Maintain a strong interest in the pursuit of knowledge and share it with students and scholars
    • Promote the discipline on and off campus and attracts students to the field
    • Maintain contact with alumni and the community.
    • Identify with professional organizations and professionals of the discipline at all educational levels
    • Assist in recruiting new Faculty members within the academic unit.
    • Assist the Division Chair and Department Lead in the preparation of class schedules and material for the University Bulletin Catalog
    • Know the Library holdings and deficiencies and plans improvements based on budget allocations
    • Assist in developing syllabi for courses in the discipline
    • Assist in the preparation of requests for foundation grants
    • Assist students by continually monitoring and evaluating students' progress and making appropriate referrals to academic and personal support services, as necessary, to meet student needs
    • Otherwise demonstrate excellence in teaching
    Qualifications:

    Terminal degree (PhD, PsyD, etc.) in Psychology or related field (ABD may be considered)
    Experience teaching college-level courses
    Experience teaching online and/or developing online courses a plus
    Practical research experience a plus
    Experience advising or mentoring a plus
    Willingness to work collaboratively within the department and division
