What will I bedoing?
ü
Joining a team of motivated professionals at the 5th largest Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in the country seeking to improve quality of life for more than 7.
ü
Overseeing a multidisciplinary team responsible for contract, grant development and administration, budgeting, procurement, invoicing, and reporting for transportation programs
ü
Coordinating development of bi-annual Unified Planning Work Program of approximately $40 million and annual MPO budget of approximately $20 million
ü
Being responsible for the day-to-day management of a diverse group of professional staff, ensuring compliance with all regulations, program goals, and performance metrics
ü
Tracking federal transportation program funding opportunities, including discretionary grants related to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and helping communities throughout the region secure funding for key priorities
ü
Managing administrative staff for the MPO, including overseeing support for Transportation Policy Council and advisory committee meetings, administrative support for management, and department expenses
ü
Demonstrating a high level of leadership and competency, including team building, proactive engagement, and project management/execution
KeyQualifications
ü
Substantial work experience with a public or private planning agency or other similar organization, with job responsibilities including contract and grant administration (Management experience and experience with Metropolitan Planning Organizations preferred)
ü
Solid communication skills, both orally and in writing, along with high-level program management skills
ü
Experience managing and leading diverse teams
ü
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and work effectively with others in a team atmosphere
ü
Knowledge and experience with Federal and state transportation grant management (direct experience with 2 CFR 200 preferred)
ü
Knowledge of public agency administration, including budget development, contract management and administration, and accounting practices

Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline orrelatedfield of study
ü
5years of experienceworking with local government, nonprofit programs, or in similar job-related duties
Preferred Qualifications
ü
Master's degree in an applicable ademic discipline (Transportation Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting)
ü
7+ years of experience working with MPOs, transportation agencies, or local or regional government
ü
Professional certifications or licenses such as CPA, CBA, AICP, etc.
