USGP is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (ATAMMC), where you'll provide essential diagnostic services to active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. This is a rewarding opportunity to support our military community while working in a federal healthcare setting.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Must maintain15 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)every 3 years and complete a minimum of200 mammography exams every two yearsin compliance with theMammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) of 1992
Proof of qualifications must be presented at the time of onboarding
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)– American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)with Mammography certification
Experience:
Minimum of1 yearhands-on clinical mammography experience within the past 2 years in ahospital setting
Immunization Requirements
(Must be current or willing to obtain)
Hepatitis B (series and titer)
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
Varicella (Chickenpox)
TB test
Seasonal Influenza vaccine
COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Key Responsibilities
Performroutine to advanced mammographic imaging , includingfilm screen mammographyandmammography-guided biopsy procedures
Accurately position patients, explain procedures, and alleviate concerns with excellent patient care and communication
Prepare examination rooms and maintain sterile fields, ensuring all required biopsy tools and sterile supplies are available
Perform quality control checks on mammography equipment in compliance withFDA and MQSA standards
Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and transport of biopsy specimens to the lab
Support the department with clerical tasks such as scheduling, screening calls, data entry, and maintaining patient records using systems likeGenesis
Maintain accurate logs of patients, exams, film views, and supply inventory
Comply with allDepartment of Radiology policies , including safety and infection control standards
Wear required radiation protection gear (e.g., film badge) and followArmy Regulation 40-14
Ensure all certifications remain current— failure to maintain active credentials will result in removal from schedule(employee bears the cost of certification renewals)
Maintain medical records according toAR 40-60 , and adhere to privacy and information release policies for third-party requestors (e.g., VA, SSA, insurers)About USGP
