    Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Media Source Management (MSM) team within the Media Engineering organization.

    The Media Source Management team's mission is to build highly available, high throughput services that are critical to delivering quality content to our customers.

    The team is responsible for implementing backend systems that process and distribute content to Disney's content catalog, powers media playback, facilitating media selection, device customization, and anti-piracy technologies.

    Run individual project priorities and deliverables and build quality products.

    Provide on-call rotational support as needed.
    Mentor or coach team members on technical concepts and principles of software development.
    Recruit and help hire dedicated software engineers.

    Basic QualificationsBA/BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience5+ years of developing software products with JavaExperience in programming with Scala or Java and proficient with one or more general purpose programming languages (Scala, Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, etc.)Experience with event-based architectureExperience working with AWS and the cloudExperience building distributed systems with event-driven architecturePreferred QualificationsExperience with TerraformExperience with AWS Lambda and Step functionsExperience developing with ScalaExperience with Agile and SCRUM#DISNEYTECHThe hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA and in New York City, NY is $ to $191,180 per year; the hiring range for this position in Santa Monica/Burbank/Glendale/L.A., California and in Bristol, Connecticut is $136,038 to $182,490; and the hiring range for this position in San Francisco, California is $148,994 to $199,870 per year.

    The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

    A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
