    Delphi Healthcare is searching for a Hospitalist in a rural setting, with low volumes and work life balance to join a great team. This position located in the North Country of New York. We have partnered with several hospitals throughout New York.     The Rural Hospitalist is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients admitted to a rural hospital. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing various acute and chronic medical conditions. It requires a commitment to addressing the unique healthcare needs and challenges of rural communities.

    Massena Hospital (MH) is a not-for-profit critical access 25-bed hospital. It provides inpatient medical, surgical, and pediatric services, in addition to emergency care. Nutritional counseling, respiratory care, physical, and speech therapies are also offered at the main campus. Numerous outreach primary and specialty care centers offer the community cardiology, infusion, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics/gynecology and women s health, pediatrics, and surgical care.     Key Responsibilities:

    1. Inpatient Care: Deliver comprehensive medical care to patients admitted to the rural hospital, managing acute illnesses, chronic diseases, and post-operative care.
    2. Hospital Rounds: Conduct regular hospital rounds to assess patient progress, make necessary treatment adjustments, and communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
    3. Emergency Care: Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital, including admissions through the emergency department and critical care situations.
    4. Consultations: Provide consultations to other physicians when specialized expertise is needed for complex or challenging cases.
    5. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, available treatment options, and post-discharge care plans.
    6. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety within the rural hospital.
    7. Administrative Duties: Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as ordering medications and diagnostic tests, while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    1. Medical Degree: Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
    2. Licensure: Possess a valid New York state medical license and be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or another relevant specialty.
    3. Hospital Privileges: Obtain and maintain admitting privileges at the rural hospital or healthcare facility where you practice.
    4. Clinical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, with a strong foundation in internal medicine or family medicine.
    5. Rural Medicine Knowledge: Have familiarity with the unique healthcare challenges and needs of rural populations is a plus, not required
    6. Continuous Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to staying current with medical advancements and best practices in rural healthcare.
