JOB TITLE: Housekeeper

Job Description

**Personal Care Duties for Rooms:**

Cleaning Room Entails: Change bedding, dust all furniture, clean and mop bathroom(s)

Wash bedding and residents personal laundry; return to room

Clean common areas thoroughly

Bedspreads, blankets and sheets must be in good condition.

Check to make sure toilet seats and commode chairs are in good repair.

Check for leaking faucets and leaking toilets. Report any problems

Notify nurse is any medication is found in residents rooms that do not self-medicate.

Rugs that need to be shampooed must be cleaned. This includes resident rooms, common areas and elevators including walls of elevator.

Make sure all furniture is in good working order.

Common bathrooms must be checked regularly; make sure bathrooms have paper towels, toilet paper and hand soap

Pull trash and make sure trash cans for incontinent residents are covered

Check that all lights are working: bathrooms, nightlight, light next to bed, hall lights, and lights in common areas. Note: All personal care residents must have a working light next to bed.

All empty rooms must be cleaned regularly.

Make sure bathroom fans and vents are cleaned and working

Keep cart is kept locked when away from cart. Do not keep personal drinks or items on cart.

Make sure all equipment used is in good working order.

Check washers to make sure detergent is not empty check on Fridays to make sure there is enough for weekend.

Clean Laundry rooms and empty lint trap after each use. Make sure detergent is not empty. Check on Fridays to make sure there is enough for the weekend. Make sure water is in dryer vent buckets.

Make sure batteries are working in battery air fresheners

Report all repairs or concerns.
