    Description

    Founded in the Spring of 2013, Chesapeake Search Partners ("CSP") is a Baltimore-based recruiting search firm supporting talent needs with six verticals: Accounting &Finance, Construction, Engineering & Manufacturing Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Real Estate & Financial Services, and Sales, Marketing & Administrative. CSP's HR Practice has partnered exclusively with a local manufacturing company in their search for a HR Generalist.

    Position Overview and Job Description:

    The HR Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing potential employees, processing payroll, maintaining benefit plans and enforcing company policies and practices.

    • weekly payroll for internal employees. Turns in time cards to any external temporary agencies.
    • tracks and documents compliance for mandatory and non-mandatory training and continuing education.
    • interviews and facilitates the hiring of candidates for open positions. May include internal or external agencies. Works with department managers to understand the right fit for each position.
    • employee onboarding to include background checks, drug screenings, new hire orientation and required documents.
    • all employee benefit programs – 401k, STD/LTD, health insurance to include yearly open enrollments, yearly audits and general maintenance.
    • potentially sensitive employee matters with employees and supervisors to include yearly reviews, compensation discussions and general employee issues.
    • and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
    • compliance with federal, state and local employment laws. Reviews policies to ensure company is up to date with best practices.
    • term projects to include re-doing employee handbook, compiling SOPs for all position-related tasks.

    Benefits/PTO:

    After 90 days applicant is entitled to health insurance. The company provides a credit card to all employees to cover the deductible. We also offer dental and eye glass insurance. After applicant is here a full year they are entitled to our 401K program that is matched up to 4%.
