This role will partner closely with customers, Deal desk, Order Management, Billing, AR, Revenue accounting, and Commissions functional leaders to ensure accuracy and compliance across the full revenue lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage global revenue accounting and billing functions
Serve as an accounting subject matter expert on technical revenue recognition matters with expertise in ASC 606
Research revenue accounting standards and document our approach to any new GAAP requirements
Lead the revenue accounting close process including ensuring that close timelines are communicated and kept on schedule
Evaluate revenue contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and GAAP principles.
Manage the company's accounting policies and procedures related to revenue accounting
Manage consolidated and statutory audits globally and liaising with external auditors
Document and support effective internal controls over financial reporting consistent with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
Oversee the accounting for sales commissions consistent with ASC 606
Seek ways to improve processes and collaborate with the systems team to consistently seek opportunities for automation and efficiency
Work directly with customers, sales, legal and other departments to consistently deliver superior customer service as well as to support company initiatives
Provide general accounting expertise, training, supervision and technical resource for staff members
Proactively identify ways to shorten financial close timelines while maintaining quality work output and delivering high quality service to internal and external stakeholders
Complete ad hoc reporting and additional project requests as assigned or necessary
Skills/Experiences you will need:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
5 years of accounting experience including in a publicly traded environment
Experience supporting SEC reporting including assisting with drafting footnote disclosures
3 years managing in fast paced SaaS environment
Expertise in US GAAP revenue recognition and reporting rules required, specifically ASC 606 (including business combinations, revenue recognition, commissions capitalization etc.)
Experience with design and execution on SOX controls
Positive attitude and ability to collaborate cross-functionally and across geographies and work in a high growth, rapidly changing environment
Passionate about motivating people, developing talent and building high performing teams
