Job Summary
This position provides 2000 hours of supervised clinical postdoctoral training Completion of this program will satisfy one of the requirements to sit for the psychology licensing exam Residencies are based in departments of Psychiatry Chemical Dependency Chronic Pain Behavioral Medicine or other sub-specialities Position provides 2 hours per week in each of the following individual supervision group supervision and didactic training Supervision is provided by licensed psychologists Opportunities may include providing short-term individual therapy family therapy crisis intervention chemical dependency evaluation adult and adolescent group therapy psycho-educational groups and psychological assessmentResponsibilities
- Provide assessment and psychotherapy of adults adolescents children and/or families in a brief therapy model Conduct intake evaluations Provide crisis intervention as needed Co-facilitate psychoeducational groups Conduct program evaluation research project Participate in community partnership projects Administer interpret psychological tests write reports Participate in regional consortial departmental training activities Maintain confidential patient files/records information timely manner Comply with regional local policies procedures APAs Code Ethics state laws pertaining delivery mental health services Other duties assigned Team-specific duties performed by pre-doctoral interns under direct supervision licensed psychologists including but not limited to Adult Team Child/Family Team Chemical Dependency Behavioral Medicine others Adult Team Provide assessment individual group treatment adults brief therapy model Child/Family Team Perform psychological evaluations children adolescents families Provide psychotherapeutic services child family populations Intensive Outpatient Program IOP Provide services patients needing intensive treatment stabilization stepped-down treatment program patients recently discharged from psychiatric unit Behavioral Medicine Provide services patients whose presenting problem related physical problem or psychological issues arising medical condition Services provided patients experiencing emotional stress-related problems concurrent receiving medical diagnosis physical symptom Chronic Pain Management Teach pain management skills pacing medication management staying active relaxation techniques positive thinking Eating Disorders Adults children teens families eating disorder diagnosis Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews positions routine basis At any time Kaiser Permanente reserves right reevaluate change job descriptions change salaried hourly pay status Such changes generally implemented only after notice given affected employees Secondary Functions Track Health Psychology Service Maternal Infant Resilience Hours/Days may vary Primary location710 S Broadway Walnut Creek CA 94596 Experience Basic Qualifications N/A Education Bachelors degree higher Completion PhD/PsyD/EdD Clinical Counseling Health School Psychology APA-accredited doctoral program residency start date Verification Completion all Requirements Doctoral Degree form required Must received doctoral internship training APA-accredited APPIC-member internship program National APPA CAS postdoctoral application process prior applying Kaiser Permanente License Certification Registration N/A Additional Requirements Knowledge Evidence-Based Practice psychotherapy research methods Bio-psycho-social functions contribute mental health Accuracy diagnosing developing effective treatment plans Competence individual family group psychoterapy Professional maturity ethical integrity necessary assuming professional responsibilities Commitment quality service teamwork participation highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic Ability complete multiple tasks/objectives timely manner Work Labor/Management Partnership environment Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience administering writing up psychological testing assessment batteries preferred Demonstrated professional maturity ethical integrity necessary assuming professional responsibilities preferred Demonstrated commitment quality service teamwork participation highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic preferred Demonstrated ability complete multiple tasks/objectives timely manner preferred Accuracy diagnosing developing effective treatment plans preferred Competence indvidual family group psychoterpy preferred
