    Description

    Responsibilities:

    Lead and manage the tax department, including supervision of tax staff, workflow management, and performance evaluation.


    Develop and implement tax planning strategies for individuals, businesses, and other entities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.


    Review and approve complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.


    Conduct tax research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities, new tax laws, and regulations, and communicate findings to clients and team members.

    Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and providing proactive tax advice and guidance.

    Collaborate with other departments, such as audit and consulting, to deliver comprehensive tax services and solutions to clients.

    Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate updates and implications to clients and team members.


    Participate in business development activities, including networking, client meetings, and proposal preparation, to expand the firm's client base and revenue opportunities.

    Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures, and quality control standards related to tax services.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Master's degree in taxation or CPA certification preferred.

    10+ years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in public accounting or a related industry.

    Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

    Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, UltraTax, Lacerte) and Microsoft Excel.

    Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

    Strong client relationship management skills and business development acumen.
