    Description

    POSITION PURPOSE:
    The Team Leader oversees Direct Support Professional staff, ensuring proper implementation of Valiant Living policies and procedures while coordinating Individual Program Plans for the well-being of individuals supported by Valiant Living.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Team Leader manages the operation of a community residential setting.


    SUPERVISOR: Residential Services Director (RSD) and/or Assistant Residential Director (ARD)


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Manages tasks supporting the direction and leadership of a home in the agency.
    • Provides training, assessment, and counseling to Direct Support Professionals and Assistants.
    • Assists in the development and monitoring of Individual Service Plans.
    • Participates in individual meetings and trains staff on ISP implementation.
    • Monitors individual programs and provides oversight for documentation and compliance.
    • Advocates for individuals' needs and manages their finances.
    • Handles complaints and ensures proper care and medication management.
    • Completes assessments, oversees organizational documentation, and provides on-call coverage.
    • Assists with household operations and responds to individual needs.
    • Uses Microsoft Office programs and advocates for individual needs.
    • Performs tasks within infection control guidelines and passes necessary training requirements.
    • Ability to lift, stand/walk for extended periods, and respond to emergencies.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, 18 years of age minimum.
    • Bachelor Degree in Human Services preferred.
    • Proficiency in DSP Competencies and 2 years of Supervisory/Management experience.
    • Mandatory orientation, First Aid & CPR training, and state Medication Administration certification.
    • Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
    • Flexibility in schedule and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication skills, ability to lift heavy objects, and maintain flexibility.
    • Responds promptly to communication, completes household tasks, and adheres to infection control measures.
    • Management responsibility for Direct Support Professional staff.
    • Ensures 24-hour coverage, maintains staffing levels, and upholds sanitation standards.

    Individual Services:

    • Oversees and trains direct care duties and assists in ISP development and monitoring.
    • Actively participates in individual meetings and completes required assessments and documentation.
